I am so happy that I could finally find a good website regarding to the set design...
I am involved in the set design of a TV series, now I'm in the process of picking the right colors for walls. my design has a kitchen with salad green wall with dark brown MDF Cabinets and Grey counter top . I am limited to use the white/beige sofa and furniture for the living room and TV room , now my concern is what color shall I pick for the walls . also I would really appreciate if you could give me a comment about the flooring, which in my design is dark wood laminates.
Hello bahareh and welcome :)
The tool I have been using recently for color selection is at http://kuler.adobe.com
Click on the 'Create' menu, and enter colors close to what you are already using. This tool will make it simple to select colors that will match using the standard color theory practices (complimentary, Triad, etc).
I have used this tool for graphic design, set design, and company branding planning. Hopefully, it will be of some use to you.
You stated a salad green wall color in the kitchen. Is the color you are undecided on in the living room, or kitchen? Are the two rooms both visible from some of the camera angles?
As far as the materials and colors you have spoken of, they sound great together. Including the dark wood laminates, which we have used often in our designs. Let me know what your layout is, or even upload an image of the design, so we can get a better idea of which wall color you are referring to.
Thanks for the reply, although I was getting disappointed!
the two rooms and the kitchen are all visible in the full shots, I have to go and pick the wall papers now, so I guess there is no chance for me this time,:-( but I hope my choices aren't that bad,,,I thought of maroon for living room, salad green for the TV room and a lighter shadow of the maroon for the kitchen...well I attache the plan Lay out, hopefully my choices aren't that bad!
I appreciate your help.
